To Do: Art Class with Green Moon

Over the weekend I conducted another very helpful poll on my Insta Stories. It's one of my favorite new features on Instagram, and lets me know a little more about what ya'll are looking for, and how I can make this little blog of mine better.

I asked what you wanted to see more of here at LL; and the overwhelming majority of you answered that you wanted to see more of my favorite things to do here in CT. Just in time for our local giveaway.

Friday Favorites

If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that there's really nothing that beats some good 'ole fashion family time. And lucky for us, so much of our crew lives so close by. So yesterday my sister-in-law and I loaded up all the cousins on their day off from school and headed to our favorite little farm to pick apples and see some pumpkins.

Prudence

This past weekend we celebrated my littlest sister and her engagement to her long time love. If you follow along on Instagram, then you already know we were on a boat. And it was lots and lots of fun.

Its been a while since there's been a wedding to celebrate in the family- and while they've been engaged a few months now, there was something about everyone coming together to celebrate that made it so real. And it brought out all the feels.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was one of the best we've had in quite some time. Not much was planned, everything was low key- but it was filled with some of my very favorite things: a crisp breeze, good friends, great wine, and my family.

And, thankfully, lots of Soulcycle. Because to say we ate our way through this weekend would be a vast understatement.

A Night at the Carnival

Five years ago in  September, I met a tall, handsome drink of water that would soon become my husband. It was a Sunday morning in a local pub- his eyes were glued to the New England patriots on the tube. And despite the fact that I had never laid eyes on him before, I quickly learned we were both townies, and had crossed paths many times in our lives.

A Sweet Gift with Candyshop

I don't know about you, but shopping for my hubby can be hard. After nearly four years of marriage, we've covered most of the typical gifts to give a significant other- watch, cufflinks, lacrosse gear- check, check, check. OK, lacrosse gear may not be that typical, but nonetheless its already been crossed right off that list.

Kid Classes: Music Together

Being a stay at home mom, I'm always on the lookout for amazing activities to keep us busy during the day. Particularly in those winter months that keep us all cooped up inside. I had heard about Music Together from a friend of mine while I was still pregnant with MM; but the thought of classes for a baby I had yet to meet quickly went on the back burner.

Pretty Prints with Roberta Roller Rabbit

If you check the weather forecast, you would never know that we were in t-shirts and sandals yesterday, enjoying the teasing, spring-like sunshine.

Alas, that is life in New England. And despite the predicted snowstorms, we pretended it was spring nonetheless, and headed to one of our favorite local shops to see their new pretty prints for the season.

Happy Place

If laughter is the best medicine, then unseasonably warm weather in February is a close second.

This past holiday weekend the weather gods graced us Connecticut folk with spectacular sunshine and a well-deserved respite from the cold. MM's dad was away for most of the weekend- enjoying his annual ski trip with the guys in Vermont. But we didn't miss the opportunity to return to the local beach that becomes our second home in the summers.

Favorite Local Kid-Friendly Restaurants

One of the many perks of raising our daughter in the very town we grew up in, is the ease with which we can share our favorite childhood memories with her.

Yes, my husband and I both grew up here in Connecticut. We even attended the same elementary school, though several {sorry, babe} years apart. And so we share so many memories of the same people, places, and activities that molded our youth; and are happy to be able to share them with Madeline in our daily lives.
