Lilies and Lambs Friday Favorites

Happy first full week of 2020! I hope everyone enjoyed the transition back to reality after the holidays- whether you’re taking it easy or going full speed ahead. I’m somewhere in between. Last weekend Phil and I took a one night staycation on Saturday at our local Delamar, followed by a day in the city with my mom and some friends; so my Monday morning was chock full of a case of the Mondays.

That said, the rest of the week felt particularly normal, which I really needed after the craziness of winter break.

I had great intentions of doing a three day juice cleanse, but a slight cold kept that at bay. Thankfully, pressed juicery juices last up to two weeks, so I’ll be picking it back up again next Monday.

This weekend we celebrate my sister’s 30th- THIRTIETH!- birthday, and then we baptize our Lila girl on Sunday.

Hope everyone has a beautiful weekend! Here are a few of this week’s favorites:

One.

The Broadway Show / Last Sunday I ventured into the city with my mom and some of my favorite girls to see Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill on Broadway. I was excited to hear some of my favorite songs from an album I played on repeat for so much of my youth; but I had no clue the show would move me in such a powerful way. I still can’t believe that music I felt so connected to as a 14 year old girl continues to resonate with me now, nearly 20 years later, so incredibly- for different reasons, of course, than way back then; but incredible just the same. I haven’t stopped thinking about the story and the message, and I’ve been playing the soundtrack on repeat; and if you’ve spoken to me in the last week I’ve likely mentioned it to you. If you’re nearby, it’s a must see.

Two.

The Brows / A few days ago I visited the brow goddess, Stephanie DeSantis, at her studio in To and From in Darien. I discovered her last year, during my pregnancy when I was committed to all natural manicures- which, by the way, are the best at To and From. Since then, I’ve been trying to grow out my brows; and slowly, but surely, they’re coming back to life. This week she cleaned them and fluffed them up, and I left feeling glorious. She also carries the best brow products I’ve found- her Brow Fibers tinted brow gel is the only one I’ll use; and I recently picked up this all-natural brow serum to help the growth along. Check her out here on Instagram.

Three.

The Sale / You guys, Zara is still having their end of season sale and the pickings are still G-O-O-D. Some of the goodies I grabbed were restocked this week, including this embroidered beauty, this disco dream dress and this best-selling floral midi that I wore all throughout my pregnancy.

Four.

The Gift Set / My sister-in-law gifted Lila this sweet hooded towel and washcloth set for Christmas, and I’m now so obsessed with all things Lou Lou Lollipop. The brand has so many amazing prints, they’re super soft, and the bundle makes the perfect gift for a sprinkle or shower. They also happen to make one of my very favorite sprinkle gifts that I picked out at Sammy + Nat last summer, linked here.

Five.

The Personalized Skincare / A few weeks ago, during one of my beloved Guasha facials with goddess Mary Heaven, she mentioned a new skincare regime she was super excited about from Renée Rouleau. According to Mary, one of her clients cured her rosacea affliction by using a personalized combination of products from the line. And, being that I, too, fight the good fight against rosacea, I immediately had to try these miracle products. Because my skin’s category is pretty straightforeward, I just took the online quiz and bought all the products for sensitive/redness prone skin. However, if you’re skin leans combination, you can schedule an online consult with one of their estheticians to create a program just for you. So far, I’m absolutely loving the products- I bought the Basic Skincare Collection for Skin Type 9, plus the Redness Care Firming Serum. Thankfully, I haven’t had any adverse reactions, and the redness serum and cream instantly cooled down my sensitive skin. If you’re looking for new products, I highly recommend.
